Chris Brown get community service and 5 years probabtion.

Chris Brown reached a plea agreement in the assault of his ex-girlfriend Rihanna. Let me start by just giving the facts. Chris Brown will be on 5 years probation and 180 days in jail or the equivalent of about 1,400 hours of "labor-oriented" community service. This announcement came just before the prelimenary hearing set in LA earlier today. Instead of Chris doing his community service in LA the county the crime was committed, the judge said he can do it in his home town of VA. I'm not surprised he didn't go to trial or that he isn't doing jail time. This happens all the time with celebrities. Also, according to the judge Chris' sentence is comparable to other felony sentences when the defendant has no previous record.
This is a serious lesson to learn at 20 years old. I really hope Chris Brown understands the magnitude of what he did and has learned from this. When all this happened people where attacking Chris. Yes he beat Rihanna, no doubt about it. And yes it was WRONG, no doubt about it. But Chris is young and with the right support can change if he truly believes he was wrong and wants to. He has just been given the opportunity to make right. This is the time in his life where he needs to go to his domestic violence counseling classes and family and friends who truly care surround him with the proper support so that he doesn't become a grown man that beats his wife! Please don't take what I'm saying as condoning his actions because I don't. What I am saying is instead of condeming him for this, support his actions to become a better MAN. If he acts accordingly. Now if we see in the near future that he is still abusing women then thats a totally different story. But right now I just think Rihanna was probably his first real girlfriend that he felt all in love with and maybe he didn't even know he had this horrible behavior in him until getting involved in this "serious" relationship.
Again, I am not condoning what Chris did... if you are a female in an abusive realtionship find a support system and get out! Because if you stay, you are condoning the behavior. As I said before, just because it may be the "norm" in your environment doesn't make it right. You can break the cycle. Ladies, remember love doesn't hurt.
